Catholic Support for Worldwide Climate Strike on 15 September
For a climate-just future.
Call for participation in the Worldwide Climate Strike on 15.9.2023.
It is high time to act and to set a strong sign in the "creation time"!
The extreme heat waves this summer, especially in Southern Europe, but also in our country, as well as the floods in Slovenia and Southern Austria show once again: The climate crisis is not something that is distant in time and space, but is already here. What is decisive is the fact that dangerous global warming is not destiny. If governments around the world get the big levers in place for this and begin decisive, rapid climate protection, warming can be contained.
The global climate strike brings together a large number of people, different environmental and climate protection movements, religious communities, youth organizations, etc. are calling for ambitious climate protection policy. In doing so, they are sending out a public signal that it is absolutely urgent to achieve the Paris climate goals is absolutely urgent. In doing so, the members of the Christian churches are emphasizing the ethical dimension of the climate crisis, stand up for climate justice and take their responsibility for creation into in a concrete way. They show the rightly concerned youth: We support your demand for a climate-just future!
We care about you!
