Runaway shepherd

Cardinal Danneels had said in a press conference that he will not attend the Saturday demonstration 'March for the Family', which is a protest against gay adoption rights. He said protesting was the responsibility of lay apostolates. Too good for protesting! What condescension!

The March for the Family is on 10 September. More like a protest is the event on 17 September, already publicised here. If Danneels is worried about his reputation in the liberal media so as not to attend the first, he will probably leave the country entirely to avoid being associated with the 17 September demonstration.

St Joseph pray for us! St Michael, Patron Saint of Brussels defend the flock whose shepherd runs away.

Custody of the Holy Land

With harsh and unexpected words, the Custodian of the Holy Land, Fr. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, has called everyone's attention back to the increasing violence and humiliation that the Christians of Cisjordan suffer at the hands of Muslims.
Psalm 121
6 Pray ye for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem: and abundance for them that love thee. 7 Let peace be in thy strength: and abundance in thy towers. 8 For the sake of my brethren, and of my neighbours, I spoke peace of thee. 9 Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have sought good things for thee.
