Cardinal slams "gender ideology" and "woke thinking" of the Synodal Path

Cardinal Müller: Vatican must take action against "gender ideology

Former Prefect of Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith also opposes other "heresies" and ideas of the Synodal Path in Germany in interview book

According to Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller, the former prefect of the Congregations for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Vatican must take action against ideas of the Synodal Path in Germany if they do not agree with the Catholic doctrine of faith. At present, he said, this concerned above all teachings in the area of "gender ideology" and "woke thinking".

He does not understand why the Vatican does not take disciplinary and institutional action against obvious heresies, Müller explained in Rome on Friday evening. The fact that God created man as man and woman and that the family is based on this is a fundamental truth of faith. If this is denied, Rome must clearly criticise it.

In this context, Müller also attacked the political class in Germany. They presume to dictate to people what they should say, think and eat. Some politicians act like preachers of a substitute religion, criticised Müller, who headed the Vatican's Faith Authority from 2012 to 2017. - Müller made his comments during the presentation of the interview book "In buona fede", which the Italian journalist, Franca Giansoldati wrote together with him.
