Statement for the Centenary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Boston

The struggle continues at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel in East Boston
Massachusetts. We were officially closed by the Archdiocese
of Boston on October 10, 2004.

The faithful parishioners have refused to leave our beautiful
Church, and have been in Vigil since October.

Our Lady of Mt Carmel was built by Italian immigrants in 1905.

On Sunday April 17, 2005 we will be celebrating our
100th Anniversary.

We have appealed to Archbishop Sean O'Malley to have a
priest say a Mass to celebrate our Centennial communion
breakfast.

We were DENIED a Mass, but we will continue our celebration
with a beautiful prayer service.

We have pleaded with Archbishop Sean O'Malley to reopen
our Church, but he refuses to listen.
