Muslim group transforms chapel in Brussels as Cardinal Danneels departs for Rome

In the centre of Brussels, there is the beautiful Church of the Minimes . It contains a Chapel in the form of the Holy House of Loretto which was built at the same time as the Church. A house of low repute was demolished to make way for the Church and there used to be an inscription in the Church, "Where once stood a temple of Venus, now stands a shrine to Our Blessed Lady." But now can it be said? "Where once stood a shrine to Our Blessed Lady, now stands a mosque".

The Chapel is now being desecrated by an occupation by a group of Kurds. They claim to be on hunger strike. Why choose a Catholic Church when there are so many other places in Belgium to protest? But is the Chapel now being used as a mosque?; the Vicariat of Brussels have neither confirmed nor denied this, despite several e-mails. The altar has been moved. The statue of Our Lady has been covered by a cloth in such a way that she is mostly hidden from the eyes of the occupants.

The entrance to the new mosque?

The Loretto Chapel is in the form of the house of the Annunciation and the childhood home of Jesus. The walls are painted in such a way as to give the illusion of life outside in Nazareth. Taking a telephone call in this holy place

The other side of the Chapel showing the original artwork representing St Joseph's carpenters shop and Nazareth beyond.

Other supporters of the group use the Church as a meeting place.
There is a track record of occupations of Belgian Churches by Muslim groups. The Beguinage Church, one witness alleged was "trashed". This is more than supported by its present state. The Church of the Holy Cross has been occupied. The Church of the Minimes was also occupied two years ago. Children were seen sitting in the priests' chairs in the sanctuary. The Church authorities no longer defend the inheritance of the Churches. In the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a banner hangs bearing the name of Allah.

"Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved." St Peter on the Holy Name Acts 4:12

Please pray a Litany of Loretto that this desecration may cease. Late extra New photo here And more apostasy in Brussels

See my comment on Cocom on left. My wife's first husband was a refugee from Nazism. In 1938, the UK Government gave just 12 passports to doctors who then had to undergo new training. The Minimes occupation was exclusively Muslim; the St Boniface not. The same name does not necessarily imply identity or relation.

However, Lumen Gentium which in the word professing makes a distinction between the Jewish historical reality and the Muslim claim to be children of Abraham (which is not mine to accept or reject).

The whole para.
"16. Finally, those who have not yet received the Gospel are related in various ways to the people of God.(18*) In the first place we must recall the people to whom the testament and the promises were given and from whom Christ was born according to the flesh.(125) On account of their fathers this people remains most dear to God, for God does not repent of the gifts He makes nor of the calls He issues.(126); But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Mohamedans, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind. Nor is God far distant from those who in shadows and images seek the unknown God, for it is He who gives to all men life and breath and all things,(127) and as Saviour wills that all men be saved.(128) Those also can attain to salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, yet sincerely seek God and moved by grace strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience.(19*) Nor does Divine Providence deny the helps necessary for salvation to those who, without blame on their part, have not yet arrived at an explicit knowledge of God and with His grace strive to live a good life. Whatever good or truth is found amongst them is looked upon by the Church as a preparation for the Gospel.(20*) She knows that it is given by Him who enlightens all men so that they may finally have life. But often men, deceived by the Evil One, have become vain in their reasonings and have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, serving the creature rather than the Creator.(129) Or some there are who, living and dying in this world without God, are exposed to final despair. Wherefore to promote the glory of God and procure the salvation of all of these, and mindful of the command of the Lord, "Preach the Gospel to every creature",(130) the Church fosters the missions with care and attention."

I haven't run into a lot of Roman Catholics that move altars around and cover up statues of Mary. More here.

HenryK is a liberal in the spirit of Vatican II.

Nowhere does it say that we should have our churches desecrated. Show me in Lumen Gentium, Gaudiem et Spes, or anywhere else about that.

The Muslims are not fleeing persecution and the govt provides for their every need.

Cardinal Deneels is a far left 'Spirit of V2' flipp doodle cleric.

People like you were helping the Nazi's and the Commie's load innocent civilians onto trains and telling them 'don't worry, the government knows best' and start misquoting church doctrine to convince them of their (and your) lies.

That is an absolute disgrace.. They should be rounded up and kicked out, and they should be arrested if they refuse or cause damage to the church.

To address what was said earlier, about Muslims, 'while their understanding of God is not the same as ours and is incomplete, they do share the same God.'

Lets let basic, very basic theology take root here -

Christians worship the Triune God - Father, Son, Holy Spirit. God the Father's name is Yahweh, the Son's name is Jesus.

Muslims worship Allah, a single entity, who never had a son, is not a triune god, and goes by the name of Allah (Allah doesn't simply mean 'god' or 'God', it is the Muslim god's actual name, and came to mean 'God' over time). He revealed himself through Mohammad, a man who was never a prophet of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

In short, Muslims do not worship our God (although they claim they do, since that is their only attempt at legitimacy) and allowing the Muslim occupation of a Christian church is to allow the house of God to prostitute itself before a false god.

Quote whichever church father you wish, they are wrong for saying it, you are wrong for repeating and believing it.

"...I know your deeds, you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake Up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God."
- Rev 3:1-2
Only idiots and cowards respect the intolerance of Islam.
Hey Henry stop being an idiot. LOOK at the picture, women in Burqas.

Who is to blame for this situation?

Government? Main Stream Media? Big Business? Political Correct activists? Or the 'sheeple' of the world?

I blame all and mostly the 'sheeple'. When will we as world citizens say enough is enough with this 'cult'?

The handful that are speaking out about this are being ignored, chastised, labeled intolerant or racist, or even being killed.

Please keep this up -- there are those of us willing and able to stand up to this cult and all that I listed above.

This is outrageous! How is it that the Catholic Church in that dont have the guts to advise them to get out? May our Lady of Loreto help those in power to resolve this problem. This is a sheer show of superiority while Christians in the Middle East of their origin cannot even wear crosses, much more a church!!!
