Hymn to Sainte-Anne d'Auray, at whose Shrine Cardinal Sarah will represent the Pope

SAINT ANNE, O GOOD MOTHER,

OUR SONGS RISE TO YOU,

HEAR OUR PRAYER AND BLESS YOUR CHILDREN.

This place, where your presence turns our hearts to God, fills us with hope by showing us the heavens.

Chosen by God the Father to give us Mary, may your example enlighten the hearts that supplicate you.

Faithful to his promise, your God, your creator, in all his wisdom, looked upon your heart.

Your faith, O good Mother, illuminated your life and prepared the earth to welcome the Messiah.

You came to this village at the time chosen by God, you bear witness to all the love of heaven.

From heaven comes your message to the field of Bocenno, so that all ages may sing of you in this hamlet.

Near the fountain, in the middle of the night, you came like a Queen to the source of life.

Faithful to your prayer, recognizing your voice, a son of this earth showed all his faith.

His heart filled with hope upon seeing the torch, he experienced the presence of the love of the Most High.

"So follow this flame, it is I who beg you, I am Madame Saint Anne, the mother of Mary."

"God wants people in this village to come to pray and bear witness to the risen Christ."

Saint Anne, O our Mother, hear our voices, our songs, lead them to the Father, hear your children.

With all confidence, we turn to you.  Sustain our hope, strengthen our faith.

With tenderness, watch over our homes. May love and unity always grow there.

Let our families live in fidelity. Your infinite tenderness will guide them well.

Protect the hearts of the baptized from all error.  Remove from them the traps that hold them captive.

Lead in assurance those whom God chooses. Keep in hope those with broken hearts.

Grant your tenderness to the poor and sinners. May the love of the Redeemer appear through them.

Sisters and brothers doubt or walk in the dark. For them, open a path of light and hope.

Lead in your light and in truth. He, like Peter, guides us with clarity.

Keep the faith of the baptized firm and strong. May they always bear love and truth.

Saint Anne, O good mother.
