Vatican II succeeds in doing what five centuries of heresy and Lutheran persecution failed to do

What five centuries of heresy and Lutheran persecution had failed to achieve, 60 years of the "springtime of the Church" following the Second Vatican Council and the results, a generation later, of the Dutch National Council, have achieved: the Dominicans of Holland are going to disappear.

Chasing after the spirit of Vatican II instead of praising, blessing and preaching

At least as an autonomous entity, before probably being wiped off the map completely.

"On Thursday 9 September 2021, the Dominican Chapter of the Netherlands unanimously approved the plan to merge with the Province of Belgium. This Chapter of the Province of the Netherlands is currently being held in Huissen. Following a written consultation of all the Dutch friars, thirty-three of them responded and they were all in favour of a merger with the Belgian friars.

This chapter therefore supports the merger of the two entities and implies the end of the Dutch province, which has existed since 1515. This decision still has to be approved by the Master of the Order of Preachers, who has already taken note of it. It is therefore likely that the merger of the Dutch and Belgian provinces will become official in mid-2022".

The said province of Belgium is itself the result of the merger of the provinces of Flanders and Wallonia, for the same reasons. In less than ten years, the Dominicans have gone from having three provinces to just one in the Benelux.
