Leading Synodalist "it doesn't matter for reform how many people leave"

In a series of three tweets.

Leaving the church is not the problem of the Catholic Church. And reforms should not be implemented because of people leaving the church. This is needed because the church injures, discriminates and inflicts violence, systemically and (has) covered it up...

People are leaving because the German Bishops' Conference and the Synodal Path were not able to give an adequate answer to the systemic causes of sexualized violence and the systems continue to have an effect and because there is not enough courage to change anything radically.

The resignations are just the symptom. And it doesn't matter for reform how many people leave. It is enough that certain people (groups) suffer - that's why something has to change for ethical reasons alone.

Cathcon: I would not put any money on Mr Podschun staying in the Church.  I fear this is all about him.
