Drag queens and tap-dancing bears in the Diocese of Mainz. Decadence in excess.
At Hessentag, we bring a fresh wind into the Catholic Church. Full transcript to follow in another post.
Who is behind this video? The "Atheist Alliance International"? A conservative Protestant underground organisation? The "Martin Luther Kommando"? Is it part of a large-scale revenge plan by Georg Gänswein on his breadwinner for his expulsion from Rome and institutional cold-calling? Keyword "false flag"? Too much professionalism is not to be assumed, however, as the actress is clearly laying it on far too thick. At the latest when one understands that the target group is not only children up to primary school age (which takes a while), it is obvious that the purpose of the video can only be to embarrass the Catholic Church, the diocese of Mainz and especially the associated parish of St. Anthony in Pfungstadt in southern Hesse to the bone.
One sees, is amazed, laughs (as a non-Catholic) or is ashamed (as a Catholic).
At the Hessentag, they wanted to bring a "breath of fresh air" into the "Catholic Church", according to Hiltrud Beckenkamp, introduced here as a parish worker. (Incidentally, the presentation is fatally reminiscent of the manner of presentation of a politician who was to become the Minister of State for Culture after this video. Here, too, it is still unclear whether this was a - ultimately unsuccessful - conspiracy against the Greens).
"A person who is approachable".
On the Hessentag road, "the bear is banging" and "a really great, super nice, interesting programme" will take place, Ms Beckenkamp is pleased to say. And it will take place in "three locations" where "the bear will be kicking" (again). Colourful children's windmills, glittering, are held by the parish worker during her remarks. "Jesus bikers" (pronounced Dschiesess-Beikor) will be guests. Guardian angel wings will be provided, so that one can become an angel via a "selfie". The church will be a place of silence during the events, but one can still pray actively at several "stations". And then comes the very critical part of the video, a bad cliff for Ms Beckenkamp: "Besides, there will always be someone here. A Ansprrrr..." She notices her bad mistake, but still manages to turn off just before the fully formed "contact person" and continues correctly: "A person who is approachable." Later in the day, "the church becomes a show stage". The highlight, however, is not a "colourful evening of nations" (this word surprisingly passes the lips of the congregation in full beauty), nor the poetry slammer, but rather on "Queer Day" they will have no less than "two drag queens here to entertain us".
At the end it says: A "colourful, diverse programme" (i.e. not just, as announced at the beginning, a "really great, super-beautiful, interesting" one) will take place. "Come by, be part of it, it's worth it." According to the announcement, the whole thing has been running since 2 June and will continue until 9 June. But please don't go there now and then stand disappointed in front of closed doors. It is inconceivable that such an event actually takes place under the responsibility of the Catholic Church, under the responsibility of the diocese of Mainz (historically one of the most important in Germany). One should ask whether investigations have already been initiated regarding the authors of the video.
Cathcon: The event was 100% real, despite the sarcasm of the article.
The Evening of the World Church.
