European phrase of the Synod opens

If the Synod in Prague is not a Parliament but a body led by the Spirit, it should start behaving like one.  The pious hopes for the Synod being expressed remind me so much of the less than pious hopes for democracy which I heard so often in the European Parliament in Brussels.

The Synod delegates in Prague are now talking about kenotic ecclesiology- to me that is Catholicism being emptied of all meaning. An English bishop stood up for the 62 Missal in a very English and reserved way.....you had to listen hard to get his meaning. We are now meant to have Synodal catechesis....Catholic catechesis would be nice.

My goodness modern theology has fallen a long way. The female delegate from Austria gave a broadcast on behalf of Modern Errors Central.

The session has much discussion about the People of God, a model for the Church which Vatican II promoted as a substitute for "societas perfecta" - the perfect society which described the Church prior to the Council. The Synod says that the Synod provides them with a big tent such as that which sheltered the Ark of the Covenant. Indeed, he people of God are wandering about in the desert without proper leadership. All they are given, however, are hard stones and shortly will die of spiritual thirst.

The motto of the Synodal Path was said to be "Dialogue about anything you want and then do whatever you want". No-one is attending with an open mind, which is why attending with an open mind is so much talked about.
