Camel attends Church for Carnival

Well, where can you find something like that? Here a real camel goes to church

No, this is not papier-mâché: a real camel stands in front of the altar in the Vaterstetten Parish Church of the Precious Church.

The carnival concert in the Vaterstetten parish church had a real camel as star guest this year. In general - it was an animal event

Vaterstetten - This year's carnival concert in the Vaterstetten parish church "Zum Kostbaren Blut Christi" was an animal delight: church musician Beatrice Menz-Hermann took the audience in the packed church on a safari to the "Vaterstetten National Park", where on Sunday, 19 February, they encountered animals large and small, birds, rhinos and a chameleon to butterflies, buffaloes, swans, giraffes and elephants.

Alpine horns, a snake charmer and the Pink Panther as keyboard player

The "Pink Panther" came as a surprise guest, playing the keys in the jazz band. A snake charmer danced to Bizet's well-known music from "Carmen". Opera singer Camilla Bull performed the birdcatcher aria from "The Magic Flute" and three alphorns made their grand entrance at the altar. A successful coup at the end: a real camel entered the church, accompanied by animal keepers from the Circus Baldoni Kaiser and many "Ahs" and "Ohs" from the surprised audience.

The camel in the church: casual and used to the attention

The huge animal seemed to really enjoy the applause and the flash of lightning. The experienced circus animal stood almost stoically at the altar and let itself be cheered before it was led back out through the central aisle of the church to the waiting van on the church forecourt after a few minutes. The conclusion of the animal event: an all-round successful concert with a brilliant ending.
