SHE, our new redeemer

The artist Evelyn Kreinecker, shows a new view of Christian male images of the Creator and Redeemer in her series of works "SHE". This presentation in the church of St. Wolfgang in Kanning in Ernsthofen is exciting and coherent.

The traditional image of Christ

For many years now, contemporary art and culture can also be experienced in this gothic building steeped in history. In Kreinecker's paintings, a young woman assumes the attitudes familiar from the church and art history and thus becomes the "main figure of a new interpretation of the message of salvation, whose field of action is located in the feminine, contrary to the traditional image," as Elisabeth Voggeneder, who is Artistic Director of the Frohner Forum Frohner. The works in the series address the discrepancy between what we experience and what is idealised and conveyed to us as an image. "SHE" comes much closer to reality, since it is mostly women who heal, give life, save, care, comfort, teach and bless in our world. The exhibition will be opened on Friday, 16 September, at 7.30 pm, musically accompanied by the cellist, Miriam Deinhofer.

The Good Shepherd
Cathcon: This is pure fideism as the image have no basis in the historical reality of Christ related in the Gospels and sanctioned by the Church.  No surprise that the wood of the Cross disappears as Christ is just an idea.  Ideas do not redeem.
