Let's be very frank here. In the Western culture, dancing has a psycho-sexual connotation. Bringing this into western spirituality is a prime example of how ingrained culture can completely thwart the intentions of liturgical dancers. Whatever artistic goals they have, the people see a half-naked man gyrating and moving his body in sexual ways.

This has no place in liturgical services. Period.
