Woman attempts the impossible. Episcopal ordination.

"The Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests (ARCWP) and the Christian community 'Home Novo' invite everyone to the ordination of Christina Moreira Vázquez as bishop." This is the wording of the invitation currently being circulated, announcing a unique event (at least in Spain): the ordination of a woman as bishop.

The association, to which Moreira belongs as a priest, has already ordained several foreign bishops with apostolic succession, including the three who will pass this on to the Spanish bishop: Bridget Mary Meehan, Gisela Forster, and Christine Mayr-Lumetzberger (From Linz- It begins in Linz as the local saying goes)

Apostolic succession is the belief that bishops are successors of the apostles and receive authority and grace through episcopal ordination. Apostolic succession is therefore transmitted through episcopal ordination, in which an already ordained member (in this case, three female bishops) confers the apostolic ministry and the faculties necessary for its exercise on a new bishop through the laying on of hands and prayer, thus ensuring the unbroken continuity of the Church's mission from the Apostles to the present day.

The three female bishops of the ARCWP were validly ordained, and now they will do the same with Christina Moreira. The goal of this ordination, as explained in the invitation to the event, is "to transmit apostolic succession within the framework of a circular and inclusive Church, so that it, in turn, can accompany and ordain women called to serve open communities where all people are welcome."

The episcopal ordination will take place on June 24 at 4:00 p.m. at an unspecified location. "Near Compostela" is all the invitation says. The location will be kept secret to avoid the presence of potential individuals who might attempt to disrupt the event for ideological or other reasons.

To participate, it is therefore essential to register with Christina Moreira at luz.galilea2025@gmail.com. Participants will then be informed of the exact date of the ceremony. The ordination of female bishops in Spain must continue to take place in secret. Until when?
