Traditionalist institutes excluded from the number of ordinations in France. Sands of time running out for the modernists.

Lack of information, ill will? The CEF has just released the figures for the number of priests to be ordained this year. Unlike in previous years, traditionalist institutes are not included.

In 2025, 90 priests will be ordained. They break down as follows

64 diocesan priests

25 religious and members of communities (5 of whom are already counted among the 64 diocesan priests);

1 member of a Society of Apostolic Life (MEP, already counted among the 64 diocesan priests).

And the situation is unlikely to improve, given the number of seminarians currently in the diocese:

At the head of the Dioceses we find Paris, with 16 ordinands, then Toulon with 10, a legacy of Monsignore Rey (what will happen in 6 years' time?...) and Laval with 10 (including 9 from the Saint-Martin Community).

We are now awaiting the figures for French ordinands from traditionalist institutes, against which the CEF now seems to be at open war. It's easier than questioning ourselves. If Rome were to carry out a canonical enquiry in all the dioceses where there are no ordinands, that would mean almost 60 visits...
