Pope wins Pinocchio Award from Italian press

The Golden Pinocchio Award has been established in the Vatican. Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known to all as Pope Francis, won it hands down, without competitors. During the interview given to Tg1, director Gianmarco Chiocci asked the pontiff who he preferred between Maradona and Messi. The Pope first smiled and then painted a sly expression as he sent the ball back for a corner: "I prefer the third, Pelé." The surprise announcement caused carnival scenes in and around Rio and, at the same time, tears and smoke in the worst bars of Buenos Aires. But it's not all true. There's the flaw. Seven years ago, a guest of the archbishopric of Krakow, the pope was interviewed by a small group of boys and one of them asked him the fateful question: "Who do you prefer between Maradona and Pelé?". His Holiness made the same grimace and replied: "I choose the third, Messi." A dribble that none of the three football phenomena would have ever managed but Jorge Mario Bergoglio, relative on his mother's side of another Argentine football genius, Enrique Omar Sivori, was skilled in the acrobatic play. Nobody knows what the pure truth is about him, who is the true chosen one, but they all agree in awarding the Golden Pinocchio to a champion of the word. Papally papal.
