Vatican press corps provides cover for Pope Francis to rehabilitate sexual abuser. Very guilty bystanders.

Rupnik a taboo

On the return flight from the Apostolic Journey to Marseilles, Pope Francis answered questions addressed to him by journalists.

The Church, Our Lord and Our Lady in shadows, overshadowed by the bigger image of the Pope, playing to the crowd but not acting in the person of Christ.  Modernism in one picture.

The Apostolic Journey of Pope Francis ends in Marseille on the occasion of the conclusion of the "Rencontres Méditerranéennes". The Pope, during the Holy Mass celebrated in the Vélodrome Stadium, said: “Brothers and sisters, let us ask ourselves with sincerity of heart: do we believe that God is at work in our lives? Do we believe that the Lord, in a hidden and often unpredictable way, acts in history, performs wonders and is also at work in our societies marked by worldly secularism and a certain religious indifference?”

And again: “Let us always remember this, even in the Church: God is a relationship and visits us often through human encounters, when we know how to open ourselves to others, when there is a thrill for the life of those who pass by us every day and when our heart does not remain impassive and insensitive to the wounds of those who are more fragile." In conclusion he quoted the words of the poet Paul Claudel: "I see the church open. […] / I have nothing to offer and nothing to ask. / I only come, Mother, to look at you. / Looking at you, crying with happiness, knowing this: / that I am your son and that you are there. […] To be with you, Mary, in this place where you are. […] / Because you are there forever, / simply because you are Mary, / simply because you exist, / Mother of Jesus Christ, be thanked!".

Cathcon: Ah yes, Claudel, the Vichy supporter who confined his sister to a mental home for 30 years against medical advice.  Hypocrisy is all.

Pope Francis and France

The Pope's relations with the nation are not rosy and this is confirmed by two episodes that we experienced during this apostolic trip. Firstly, Bergoglio has repeatedly said that this would not be a visit to France but to Marseille, wanting to underline how this event and migrants are a concern for him, rather than visiting a country that is not "peripheral". Francis, in fact, had explained that he prefers to visit "peripheral European countries".

Even the press did not welcome the Pope yesterday. All the main newspapers have defined this trip as "political" and have called Bergoglio as "the Pope of migrants". The Pontiff knows that this theme is particularly felt in a country where there are indelible signs of this phenomenon.

During the Holy Mass, probably thinking of dampening the controversy, Francis said: “Dear brothers and sisters, I am happy to be here in Marseille! Once the president invited me to visit France and said to me like this: 'But it's important that you come to Marseille!'. And I did it."

Immediately after the conclusion of the “Rencontres Méditerranéennes”, the Pope had a private meeting with the President of the French Republic who was kept waiting for several minutes. Francesco remained sitting alone for some time, visibly annoyed. The Elysée announced that the meeting focused on the "migration issue" and the "end of life". And they underlined that Macron showed the Pope the bill but "did not go into detail, neither on the content nor on the balance of the text".

On the return flight, Pope Francis reported, however, that he had not spoken to President Macron about the end of life. “Today we didn't talk about this topic, but we talked about it during the other visit, when we met.” As usual with Bergoglio there are those who say one thing and those who say another. Is the Elysée exploiting the Pope for this law, hoping for the support of Catholics?

Cold shower at the Elysée

A cold shower came when the Elysée leaked a statement in which he underlined that "France has nothing to be ashamed of, it is a country of welcome and integration".

On the return flight, as usual, the Pontiff answered the questions posed to him by journalists. None of the Vatican experts asked questions about the Rupnik case, especially in light of the statement from the Vicariate of Rome. This confirms that these individuals are anything but free professionals.
