Angry Tyrolians want to evict Bishop from their land

Ceremonial Riflemen: Troublemaker should leave Tyrol

Innsbruck: The Diocese of Innsbruck cannot rest under Bishop Hermann Glettler. After the crucified frog, Glettler blasphemously degrades Jesus Christ and probably the vast majority of Catholics with a Lenten hanging showing a pig's heart with its lower half stuck in a condom. What Glettler is doing is unworthy of a Catholic bishop! His latest "art action" degrades the "Heart of Jesus Christ", to which the trilingual Old Tyrolean Schützen-Andreas Hofer is also sworn.

"Glettler may be a "performance artist" who has not found his true vocation but he is certainly not suitable for the office of Bishop of Innsbruck," said Captain Johann Moser. Glettler's numerous scandals are either approved of or covered up by the mainstream press. And after the politicians, whose representatives are mostly Catholics, cannot bring themselves to finally speak plainly, we as riflemen must speak up for our Lord God!

Glettler can be seen as an enemy of our faith, our traditions, even the "Heart of Jesus Christ" is degraded by him! Glettler embodies evil, he divides and drives away the faithful instead of uniting and guarding them. Glettler is a troublemaker, a danger to the inner peace of our Tyrolean homeland! "Glettler should take his hat off of his own accord and leave Tyrol. We will gladly provide him with an escort of riflemen to bring him unmolested to the Tyrolean border!"

Captain Moser further emphasises that the "Diocese of Innsbruck" art project, which was politically staged at the time, has failed; we need neither narcissistically inclined "artists" in gowns, nor an ecclesiastical symbol of the division of Tyrol. Instead of Innsbruck, Bolzano-Bressanone should be restored. This would not reverse the extremely high number of church departures that have taken place since Glettler was in office, but it would ensure peace and quiet.

Cathcon note:

On 1 June 1796, the Select Committee of the Estates of Tyrol decided to entrust the country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in view of the threat of war from Napoleon's troops. Sebastian Stöckl, the Abbot of Stams Abbey, put forward the proposal. On 3 June, the promise was kept. Since then, the pledge has been renewed every year on Sacred Heart Sunday.

"As Bishop, Glettler has broken the vow of the Tyroleans to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, he has betrayed God and Tyrol, an apology is no longer sufficient here," Johann Moser
