Vorarlberg: Church invites young people to "Techno Easter Night"

At church services with techno music, young people in Vorarlberg can celebrate the resurrection of Jesus in a special way

The Diocese of Feldkirch has a special provision for young people at Easter: With a "Techno-Mass" at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday (April 8th, 9 p.m.), the "Young Church" of the Catholic Church in Vorarlberg wants to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus in a special way together with young people and celebrate wisely. "We have the Word of God at Easter Vigil, accompanied by the finest electronic dance music," explained organiser Christian Schwald from the Young Church to Kathpress.

Schwald was convinced that Easter, the highest festival in the church year, had to be properly celebrated. So the question was asked what it would be like if this celebration did not take place in the church as usual, but in a club-like atmosphere. The "Young Church" wants to invite all young people between 18 and 30 to this "experiment" in the cathedral vault near the cathedral parish church.

According to Schwald, the start will be at the Easter fire in front of the Cathedral, after which the resurrection will be celebrated with dancing at a liturgy of the word. Afterwards, "Open End" will continue to be danced and celebrated, explained Schwald, who will also be DJing himself. "Admission is free and the drinks are chilled."

"At Easter we celebrate the Resurrection and life. Life is defined by the rhythm of the pulse, like in techno music," organizer Schwald said with conviction. "There, too, the core is a continuous beat." Life is the focus at Easter, "and that should be celebrated".
