Don't Do a Luther- message to Synodal Assembly

 


Maria 1.0 is the Counter-Reform movement in modern Germany.


Despite Vatican opposition, the Synodal Assembly wants to establish itself as a permanent Synodal Council with not just advisory powers but decision making powers.  As they want to ordain women and to extend marriage to same-sex couples, they clearly want these powers to touch matters of faith and doctrine.  

Thomas Söding, a leading synodalist wants the Bishops to be fully integrated into the people of God.  Today, they voted that the priesthood should survive.   Catholicism depends on the independence of the clergy, especially the Bishops from the whims of people of a particular time and place.  Bishops represent the wider Church to their Dioceses, the priests depend for their authority on the Bishops.  Synodality lacks all legitimacy.  It is a political game to subvert the clergy, a power grab where the Holy Spirit is noticeably absent. Stetter-Karp, the Chair of the German Laity managed to get through her opening statement at the pre-Assembly press conference without once mentioning God/ Jesus Christ.  She may well be a crypto-Anglican as plenty of Anglican liberals lead their lives without reference to the Divine.....and one only has to look to England to see the catastrophe that is Synodal government of the Church.   It is all about them and not about God's Truth.

Time for a new Counter-Reformation.
