The Church today hates priests
An article in Le Parisien talks about the canonical visit, which begins on Monday in the Diocese of Fréjus-Toulon. Admittedly, Le Parisien is not always a serious news daily, especially when it comes to the Church, and few journalists have any religious culture. But the journalist quotes an anonymous prelate:
"What has struck the Vatican is the clearly too high number of priests this area has given to the Church over the years"
Sic. Now you understand why Rome does not conduct canonical visits to Dioceses that are almost brain-dead, without a vocation for years, with priests and even bishops in burnout... What worries Rome is that a Diocese can still give priests to the Church... Look for the error.
In fact, the Diocese has ordained 151 priests since 1983. Rome thinks that there are bound to be priests who should never have been ordained. And that's why last summer's ordinations were suspended. 6 future deacons and 4 future priests are still waiting.
The St. Martin's Community, which is also being visited, and which is experiencing an increasing number of vocations, should also be concerned. The Church today hates priests.
Cathcon: The Community is very moderate, conservative rather than traditional and is embarrassed by any association with the Latin Mass. I fear there are about to find out where appeasing modernists gets them as they are consumed by the vile revolution going on in the Vatican.
