The dates of the missions on the Mission Cross of Klosterneuburg Monastery in Austria are revealing. Not a one off, but similar dates can be found on Mission Crosses throughout Europe. They were often set up by Redemptorists, so as that order was diverted into other tasks associated with social justice and the like, they preached fewer and fewer missions in parishes
