Vatican accused in Belgium
Victims of sexual abuse within the church want to take the Vatican to court in Brussels, said Wednesday the lawyer, Walter Van Steenbrugge, who with his fellow lawyer, Christine Mussche represents some 75 victims.
The victims complain about the Vatican's negligent conduct and their lack of reaction to the announcement of sexual abuse. Mr. Van Steenbrugge will make a legal complaint about the Vatican in Brussels, which is where the investigative judge Wim De Troy is inquiring into acts of non-assistance to persons in danger associated with the sexual abuse occurred within the Church. Walter Van Steenbrugge also is focusing on people in Belgium, but he will not reveal their identity. The victims will know themselves in the middle of May, after the introduction of the complaint.
