Saint made demonic in Vienna Cathedral

On Mai 27 the rector of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna blessed a controversial bust of Sr Restituta Kafka who was murdered by the Nazis during Second World War and declared blessed by Pope John Paul II. The bust was produced by the Austrian artist Alfred Hrdlicka. He is an atheist and describes himself as a "Stalinist". Hrdlicka was personally commissioned by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of Vienna to produce the sculpture.

This is simply another case of so called art which relfects not the divine, but the base ideology of the "artist".

Notice also the mention of the communists executed along with her, the poor things..! why would this fact be worth mentioning? Does the artist want them to be beatified too? I don't think you or your readers need to be reminded of the penalty of automatic excommunication for the supporters of communism. It would be a whole different matter if the guys had abjured their heinous ideology thanks to their witnessing of sr. Restituta holy example - I don't know if that was the case, but if so, that should be stated as well (what kind of 'pastoral work' is this?). But of course the 'artist' would never do it by his own volition! As it is, the work not only desecrates the memory of a saintly woman and the Cathedral itself, but actually uses their prestige to make communist propaganda. Cardinal Schoenborn, thus, by his abetting the aforesaid communist propaganda, is already excommunicated.
