Neo-Pagan. Oh, God help us. If it looks like a sect and behaves like a sect, then it probably is a sect.

Pontesisto is absolutely right. "If it looks like a sect and behaves like a sect, then it probably is a sect." Just like the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer, the Institute of the Good Shepherd and the Personal Apostolic Administration of Saint John Mary Vianney.

Away with these "neo," "new," and "novus" ways. Away with them!

Bring forth the commendations of these men and anyone who approves of them!

Halt the elevating of scandalous Popes and others to Sainthood!

HALT THE MADNESS O LORD!

When will it EVER end? When will we get a Pope that will ACT LIKE A POPE?

When will laity stop adoring the "heroes" of the Novus Ordo, clamoring for their canonization and hoping for the end of Traditionalist things?

Scott, I assume you wouldn't have been too impressed with S. Francis or S. Benedict, had you been around in their day - the difference, however, is they played by the rules. What gives the N-Cs the right to their liturgical abuses if they claim to love the Church so much? In the long run, their disobedience will only hinder the Church as they will have undermined her authority.

If they look like Protestants and behave like Protestants, they probably are Protestants: "Lex orandi, lex credendi".

Ponte, Francis and Benedict, and many others who are now revered as exemplars of the faith, were first regarded as radicals. They weren't practicing according to the current norms, nor were they calling the church back to some period in church history that folks were feeling sentimental about (as is happening now with all this tidentine nonsense). They were calling the faithful back to their roots: an embrace of Christianity that is truly based on the Gospel message of Christ. We're never going to get there with Latin Masses and bishops who like to dress up like princesses.

Scott, Benedict and Frances were obedient to the Church, no matter how gauche some elements at the time regarded them to be. These guys aren't radicals and they make the rules up as they go along. Mother Theresa was a radical. The Cure d'Ars was a radical. These folks just want everything their own way and blow the rules.

I'm confused by your argument as regards the place of Tradition in the Church. When did the Church cease to be faithful ("... calling the faithful back to their roots"); and, when did it start to be faithful again?

As you can see my profile, may I ask your age?

If Benedict XVI and JPII look like popes and behave like popes, then they probably are Holy Spirit inspired popes.

If pontesisto, scott and Alexander look like arrogant ignorants and behave (writing) like ignorant arrogants, then they probably are stupid arrogant ignorats.

Let the Holy Spirit work.

I want to personally thank Scott for his most enlightening posts. The Catholic Church has been bumbling along in abject stupidity for 2000 years and now, at last, Scott has been given to us to set the matter right.

No longer will we need the antiquated wisdom of Aquinas, Augustine, Bellarmine, More, St Pius X, etc. We have Scott now who can cut through all the - what does he call it? - "nonsense". That tridentine nonsense, which took a mere twenty centuries to develop, can now be swiftly junked and packed off to some Museum. Why? Because Scott says so.

My only question is, why did God wait for two millenia before sending us the Divine Oracle Scott?
