The moronic logic of our age is that had Hitler been born with a crown, we might well be rewriting history (a la Gloriana, etc.) and celebrating him, too. Furthermore, One has only to see how Obama's infanticidal tendancies are ignored by the "enlightened" masses. No doubt, there will be talking heads on the T.V. hailing this miserable monarch.

This is a day of great sadness, which should remind us of our debt to the blessed saints and martyrs of the "Reformation".

...but surely that infamous day would not be that of his accession, but that when he chose/plotted/was coerced to go against the express will of the Apostolic See?
I agree with Mark. When Henry VIII that ascended to the throne was loyal to the Catholic Faith, and defended it from the Protestant Revolt sweeping Europe. In fact, Leo X granted him the title "Fidei defensor" for his 'Defense of the Seven Sacraments'.

Henry's schism occurred in 1533.
