If you want to die in Church

You can always check into this nursing home.

In medieval times, there were hospitals set up with an altar at one end of the hall and beds all down the sides so that all would be at Mass every day before they died.

Incredibly in Beaune, there is still a hospital on site- but sadly the original halls have been converted for banqueting.

As uses for ex-church buildings go, this is far less offensive than the micro-brewery that was installed in an ex-Catholic Pittsburgh parish, or the bookstores with coffee shops, or the night clubs... Several Episcopal churches in the US have turned into nightclubs with one being a gay bar...

At least a nursing home still captures an element of "noble purpose" and service... Not ideal, but pretty much of of the least offensive uses I have seen to date.
