Forty Hours Devotion in Thanksgiving for the Holy Father's Motu Proprio
From Friday, September 14th to Sunday, September 16th, the Shrine of Christ the King celebrated the Forty Hours Devotion in thanksgiving for His Holiness's motu proprio, Summorum Pontificum. The Forty Hours Devotion takes place over a period of three days. Whether in a contiguous period of forty hours or whether the Blessed Sacrament is reposed during the night, the same liturgical privileges and indulgences apply. We were particularly blessed as this was the first time Holy Mass was celebrated in our church building since its closure in 2002.
The Institute is now in charge of restoring its interior, for which it needs to raise all the funds. "
