Stealth priestesses among the Greek Catholics of Poland

Would I think confirm the worst suspicions of the Orthodox. Source

Question: Are they supposed to be altar girls, or what are they really?

Caused quite the stir in the Byz Cath and Orthodox circles. Roundly condemned.

Some US Catholic parishes have altar servers wear chasubles. It's very disconcerting and confusing even for the altar servers.

Those are the vestments of a server. It is not a chasuable of a secret priestess. It is an altar girl. Still quite foreign to the tradition... But not a special vestment they are putting on girls - it is what the boys wear.

As far as the worst suspicions of the Orthodox... The worst ones are that we are not Christians at all to begin with and that we are marching lock step with the Generalissimo in Rome who calls himself a bishop....

Isolated pictures like this, then, circle the blogosphere and take on a life of their own - generating far more column inches and conspiracy theories than they deserve.

As far as I can understand, these photos were taken at a girls camp where the girls acted as the servers...

In Hungary in the Greek Catholic parish set up to minister to the Roma people ("Gypsies") it has been common for years - and it is NOT leading to priestesses.

I don't care for it, but we shouldn't make more of it than it is. Some girls in one place at one time serving. By no means the norm.
