Responding to the Archbishop

Cardinal Sean's blog.

The correct spelling of Motu Proprio would help people to consider that you were taking the question of the liberation of the Latin Mass seriously. The number of priories of the SSPX is low because the holy Archbishop required that there be several priests in one location to guard against freelancers, often found nowadays in the parochial clergy of the mainstream Church, let alone in traditionaliist circles. The quality and quantity of the practice of those attending SSPX and indult chapels is also much higher- you do them a disservice by your statements. Given the present rates of decline in the Church across the world, figures which you will be well aware of, the crossover between the growth of traditionalism and the mainstream Church is about twenty years away. It is also completely untrue to say that the sole motivation is the reconciliation of the SSPX, as anyone who read the Pope’s writings on the liturgy would be well aware.

You also forgot to mention that you closed the Church of the Most Holy Trinity where the Latin Mass took place before transferring the venue to Mary Immaculate of Lourdes, despite almost all the stakeholders being fully committed to saving Holy Trinity.

Cunning this Archbishop! A cookie allows me to think the comments have been posted prior to them being reviewed and almost certainly rejected. Noone else can see them, as far as I know.
