Before and after the liturgical vandals arrived

in the Pilgrimage Church of St Wolfgang, Austria.
It is the place of the Saint's death and the retable whose outline can be seen in front of the High Altar was where the pilgrims venerated the saint. There is now a "Memorial Place" in a side-chapel.

It is the home of a modern Franciscan community who are so busy in this sleepy little village that they need a firemans pole to get them to the Divine Office on time.

People will never guess which Diocese although to be fair such modernisations are common throughout Germany and Austria.
