Resignation of Archbishop Wielgus

Remarkable film from Polish TV. The actual moment is three minutes in.

If you could understand Polish, I'm sure your opinion would change towards this Archbishop.

I'm not one of these liberal lefties that are featured on your blog, but I still ask "doesn’t the church teach forgiveness".

Just as Cardinal Glemp defended this Archbishop in his homily, it is quite known that Cardinal Wyszyński would also. Even though Cardinal Wyszyński hated the collaborators, he would still defend his brother bishop, would a Father no forgive or not defend his own son. Such was the relationship of the primate and the bishops of Poland during communist times.

Final the people them selves wanted the bishop to stay, as would have been quite clear to you if you understood what they were saying.

I am no against you or your blog (I think it is great of you to shed light on the dog’s breakfast that the diocese of Linz is in), but I think people should not come down so strongly on these collaborators. They were tough times in the church in Poland during communist times. This does not excuse them collaborating with the secret police, but we must show forgiveness to them.

In closing, wouldn’t it be worse if they wanted to install a total liberal, such as the bishop of Linz or Cardinal Mahoney in the see of Warsaw? I hope my little comment here does not create content for me.

Great blog, keep up the good work!
