I saw an RC priest do this sort of thing 20 years ago; Fr K is so with it. The most noteworthy thing here is a reason to hope: look how old he is. Even though they're the commonest reason given for this, 'the kids' don't necessarily want it; they're simply given few if any options by Fr K's generation, still firmly in charge.
