Requiescat in Pace
Dear Friends of St. Brigid,
We are sorry to inform you that our dear friend, Joe Dignan, Chair Pro Tem passed away yesterday afternoon. He was 49 years old. Joe was a founding member of the Committee to Save St. Brigid Church and worked tirelessly over the past 12 years for the cause of saving St. Brigid. Since its inception, he served as an Officer and Director. He was a passionate crusader and wonderful leader who brought great energy to the work of the Committee. He was instrumental in the present landmarking efforts. Today, he and members of our group were to meet with Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier and the Academy of Art University regarding the landmarking of the church. We have canceled this meeting and have asked to reschedule it in the near future.
We are very grateful to Joe for all he has done for the Committee. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe's family, especially his daughter Mary. At this time we do not know when services will be held. We will keep you posted.
Sincerely,
Beatriz St. John
