When they say "Parish consolidation", they mean "sale of Church"

I think they mean "Sale of Churches planned" to raise money from real estate.  Chapel by chapel, church by church, the modern Catholic Church is destroying herself.  From a newspaper article of the time.  

"Auburn St. Benedict and Divernon Sacred Heart buildings to be sold. St. Mary's Church in Pawnee burned in May."
