St Michael's Church, Ancoats, Salford, UK
Also on page 3 of January 28 edition of the UK Catholic Herald an extensive report about St Michael's Church.
In the spirit of Christmas generosity, the Diocese announced a final Mass for December. They called it a Mass of Celebration. The Faithful did not think there was much to celebrate, so stayed on the steps outside.
The Faithful wrote to the Bishop; the Diocese replied,
"Thank you for your letter, the contents have been noted".
The font from the Church has been dumped besides the rubbish bins. What a symbol of the Diocesan contempt for the Sacramental life of the Church.
Every Sunday, they sing Faith of Our Fathers outside the Church, a hymn the Bishop has clearly forgotten. All Saints and Martyrs of England pray!
Faith of our fathers, living still,
In spite of dungeon, fire and sword;
O how our hearts beat high with joy
Whenever we hear that glorious Word!
Refrain
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.
Faith of our fathers, we will strive
To win all nations unto Thee;
And through the truth that comes from God,
We all shall then be truly free.
Refrain
Faith of our fathers, we will love
Both friend and foe in all our strife;
And preach Thee, too, as love knows how
By kindly words and virtuous life.
Refrain
Faith of our fathers, Mary’s prayers
Shall win our country back to Thee;
And through the truth that comes from God,
England shall then indeed be free.
