A block of wood for an altar, not hewn, and no altar cloth. When was this photo taken? Can it be true that after all the internet and media exposure of such abuse, that this is still happening?
This arrangement is often used in Belgium. It is aliturgical- having no basis in history or theology. In fact, the "altar of the word" (as it is called, not by me!) and the altar of sacrifice confront eachother.
