Cardinal Roche's Paris working holiday now cancelled. Liturgical incompetence in Paris.

Yes, that is a rugby ball, thrown during Mass at just after 35 minutes.

The faithful who demonstrate every midday during the week in front of the archbishopric of Paris, and those who are mobilising for the re-establishment of the masses suppressed by Mgr Aupetit in Paris, at Notre Dame du Travail, Saint Georges de la Villette etc, communicate:

"Blogs interested in the traditional liturgy have relayed in recent days an information given by the Church of France: the SNPLS- National Service for Liturgical and Sacramental Pastoral Care (which succeeded the CNPL, National Centre for Pastoral Liturgy), guardian of the flame of the reform in France, is organising "national days", on 10 and 11 May, at Saint-Honoré-d'Eylau, in the Great Crypt, 66 bis avenue Raymond Poincaré, 75116 Paris, opening at 8.30am, conferences from 10am.

The theme of the session is: Desiderio desideravi, the title of Pope Francis' apostolic letter of 29 June 2022 on "the liturgical formation of the people of God".

In Desiderio desideravi, as is well known, the Pope drives home the point made in Traditionis custodes: he wants unity to be re-established around the unique expression of the Roman lex orandi, the liturgy of Paul VI. But alas, the immense riches of this liturgy are not well known, and the Church's forces must be devoted to its formation and study... Promoting the formation and study of these riches: This is what the congress participants (who are very involved, and who will pay a registration fee of 110€), all diocesan actors in liturgical pastoral care, liturgical music and sacred art commissions, seminary formators, will reflect on intensely, trying to "go beyond the classic opposition between rubricalism and creativity to rediscover the dignity of liturgical action." More than 50 years after the making of the so-called liturgy where everything is only options, choices and spaces left to personal invention...

These days are considered of such importance that they will be presided over by Cardinal Arthur Roche, Prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship, in person, who has been invited by Mgr Guy de Kérimel, Archbishop of Toulouse, President of the Council for Liturgy and Sacramental Pastoral Care of the French Bishops' Conference, both of whom are "specialists" and are particularly active today in the (futile) attempt to eradicate the traditional Mass.

And what "specialists"! Letter 926 of Liturgical Peace of March 13 last (Paix Liturgique France) had pinpointed the "astonishing liturgical incompetence" of Cardinal Roche, just as Letter 835 of November 21, 2021 (Paix Liturgique France), noted the "commercial cafe liturgical science" of Bishop de Kerimel, then Bishop of Grenoble. Arthur Roche, like Guy de Kerimel, believes, says and writes that the traditional missal is an invention after the Council of Trent, just as the missal of Paul VI is a fabrication after Vatican II! You have to dare. So much so that I am reminded of the famous line from The Gunslingers:

[These people] dare to do anything, that's how you can tell them apart.

As for Guy de Kerimel, these days will bring his national mission to an end: the CEF has already elected his replacement as head of the liturgy: Mgr de Metz-Noblat, Bishop of Langres, who will take up his post on 1 July, and who is clearly less fanatical about Bugninism. No doubt this is why he has been approached as the successor to Mgr Dominique Rey, who for the time being has no intention of resigning from his seat as Bishop of Toulon-Fréjus.

But after all, am I not too negative? These two specialists will perhaps have the opportunity to dialogue with one or other of the Parisian representatives of the parishes from which the traditional liturgy was torn away by Mgr Aupetit. For us, we will support their attempts at our recitation of the rosary, on Wednesdays, at 5pm at Saint-Georges de La Villette, every Sunday, at 6pm in front of Notre-Dame du Travail, and in front of the offices of the Archbishop's palace, 10 rue du Cloître-Notre-Dame, from Monday to Friday, from 1pm to 1.30pm″.
