It is a left wing site. It seems the teacher began organising these Amnesty vigils in recent times. The 1st vigil was in relation to Guantanamo Bay.They want it closed. The pupils took part during lunch break.
However, they are a Catholic school and should be aware of the policy Amnesty have in relation to abortion and realise the Vatican and Bishops and other Catholics have cut funding and spoken out against Amnesty.
It is not right for a school teacher to exploit his students in this way. They probably meant well and didn't realise the policy on abortion but their teachers and the Mercy Sisters ought to know better.
The photograph removed was from their own website. It showed three students and a slogan "He's Gay And We'Re COOL WITH THAT".

Concerned parents and friends have raised objections to this type of content and are taking the matter further.
