Deafening silence of the shepherds on the Terri Schiavo case

Results from a survey of the websites of the US Catholic Dioceses. Only one quarter (about 40) make any reference to the Terri Schiavo case in general terms. Some Dioceses even seem to think that euthanasia is a question open for discussion for Catholics. I have searched in the Bishop's personal pages and Diocesan news releases and newsletters. If this failed, I used google to search the whole website. In one case, the Diocesan home page highlighted a golf tournament sponsored by the bishop and in another a quilt exhibition in the presence of the bishop. Very few Bishops (around 15 of about 170) have said anything directly on the matter. And has the Catholic Church failed Terri?  (link now broken 2023)

St John Neumann, pray for us!
