Celebrating the indelible mark left by Pope Francis. "Everyone, everyone, everyone."

City Council initiative

The moving tribute to Pope Francis in the City of Santa Fe has a date, time, and location.

More than 20 institutions in this capital, including universities, are participating. The ceremony will take place on August 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Colegio Inmaculada, where Jorge Bergoglio left his mark: he was a teacher in the mid-1960s.

Pope Francis, a spiritual leader who has made a mark on human history, will be honored in the city.

In a press conference, the president of the Santa Fe Municipal Council, Adriana "Chuchi" Molina, Councilman Julián Martínez, and the rector of the Catholic University of Santa Fe (UCSF), Eugenio de Palma, gave details about the event honoring Pope Francis.

The event will take place on August 13th, starting at 5:30 PM, at the Colegio Inmaculada, where Jorge Bergoglio was a teacher from 1954 to 1965. There, he left an indelible mark.

"It's a very important day for us," Molina emphasized in an interview with the press. She invited the citizens of Santa Fe to participate in this tribute, which “will be very moving. It is free and open to the public. It was conceived by the more than 20 institutions that participated in this initiative,” she emphasized.

“Francis was a universal spiritual leader. But he also had a concrete presence in the capital city, between 1964 and 1965, at the Colegio Inmaculada. In addition to the tribute, we also plan to make a video featuring all the voices of those who participated in this initiative,” the president said.

Eugenio Martín De Palma, Rector of the Catholic University of Santa Fe (UCSF).

De Palma emphasized that Pope Francis marked a before and after in the history of humanity."

The phrase

"What is the phrase that for you was the most representative of Francis?" CyD Litoral asked Eugenio de Palma. "Everyone, everyone, everyone." It's an expression that sums up his Papacy. Because it was a papacy of a Church that dialogued with all religions, with all governments. This tribute that Pope Francis will receive in the city is well deserved."

"Francis has been a figure in the history of humanity who marked a before and after. We have no doubt about that, not only for Christians, but for the entire world," emphasized the UCSF rector.

Collection

Julián Martínez provided details about the solidarity collection. “The goal is to honor Francis' legacy. Solidarity, respect for others. We at the Council wanted to recognize his time in Santa Fe. Donations can be received within the next 10 days. We have drop-off points throughout the city,” said the councilman.

It's worth noting that non-perishable food items and nappies are being received, which will be donated to Caritas and other charities.
