On Wednesday, Bishop Marek Solarczyk of Radom announced that Father Krzysztof Dukielski had requested the Pope to release him from his position as auxiliary bishop. The Holy Father accepted the priest's resignation.
On Saturday, Bishop Solarczyk announced on social media that, after the announcement of Father Dukielski's episcopal appointment, a report had been made of inappropriate behavior toward a minor.

"Out of a sense of responsibility for the good of the Church community and out of concern for the injured party, I inform you that only after the announcement of Fr. Krzysztof Dukielski's episcopal appointment was the priest's past inappropriate behavior toward a minor reported," Bishop Solarczyk stated on the Radom Diocese website.
The bishop emphasized that, in accordance with canon law, upon receipt of credible information, "proceedings prescribed by the norms were immediately initiated."
"Out of concern for the good of the injured party and the public order of the Church, appropriate preventive measures were imposed on Fr. Krzysztof Dukielski. Further decisions in his case will be made in accordance with the relevant provisions of Church law," added Bishop Marek Solarczyk.
The Bishop of Radom also expressed his sympathy for those affected by Father Dukielski's behavior.
"I assure you of my prayers and my readiness to offer them pastoral support. I also reaffirm my determination to fulfill all principles of justice and to build a Church community based on truth, responsibility, and respect for every person," he emphasized in a statement.
As we reported a few days ago, in mid-July, Pope Leo XIV appointed Father Dukielski, previously pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Magnuszew, as bishop. The priest became auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Radom, and Catula was assigned to him as titular bishop.

Out of a sense of responsibility for the good of the Church community and out of concern for the wronged person, I would like to inform you that only after the announcement of Fr. Krzysztof Dukielski's episcopal appointment was the fact of the priest's inappropriate behavior towards a minor, which had occurred in the past, was reported.
In accordance with applicable canon law, upon receipt of credible information, the proceedings provided for by the norms were immediately initiated.
Out of concern for the well-being of the injured party and the public order of the Church, appropriate preventive measures have been imposed on Fr. Krzysztof Dukielski. Further decisions regarding his case will be made in accordance with the applicable provisions of Church law.
