Cardinal Decarbonisation. But where is Christ to be found in all this?

On June 14 and 15, 2025, the JUBILEE OF CREATION promoted by the Archdiocese of Siena-Colle di Val D’Elsa-Montalcino and the Diocese of Montepulciano-Chiusi-Pienza will be celebrated. The meeting is at the historic Church of Abbadia San Salvatore starting at 3:00 pm on June 14, 2025. The slogan that has been chosen for this event is “Protecting creation, generating hope”.

There will be two days. The first, of reflection with a debate together with Don Marco Belleri, engineer and writer, has dealt, ten years after the publication of the encyclical Laudato sì, with the practical aspects with the indications of moral theology that inspire everyday life with its concrete actions. With him also Cecilia dall’Oglio, Associate Director of the European programs of the Laudato Si Movement.

Cardinal Augusto Paolo Lojudice, Archbishop of Siena-Colle di Val D’Elsa-Montalcino and Bishop of Montepulciano-Chiusi-Pienza, will introduce the works.

On June 14, 2025, on the sidelines of the debate with the experts, Cardinal Lojudice and the mayors of the two dioceses entrusted to him will join the “DECARBONIZATION PACT” promoted by the Laudato Sì Movement to commit their institution to divest from fossil fuels.

The second day will be dedicated to moments of spirituality and the pilgrimage to the Madonna degli Scout on Mount Amiata.
