The Allegory of the Triumph of Divine Providence

The Papacy has a role in the provision of Providence.

"The Triumph of Divine Providence and Barberini Power" is located in the grand salon of the Palazzo Barberini, in Rome. This painting, over 400 square meters of decorated fresco, was created by the Italian painter Pietro da Cortona. The elaborate project was commissioned by Pope Urban VIII (Maffeo Barberini) in 1632, and finished by Cortona in 1639"

If you look carefully, the Keys of Peter can be seen.   Barberini destroyed so much of Rome in his building works that it was said, “quod non fecerunt barbari, fecerunt Barberini” which translated means “what the barbarians did not do, the Barberini family did."

The ways of Providence are obscured in our day by the methods of Francis.
