Pope to transform Castel Gandolfo into an eco-centre

The future centre for ecological education and agriculture is to be called "Borgo Laudato Si", taking its name from the environmental encyclical published by Pope Francis in 2015. The Vatican State government, known as the Governatorate, published the statutes for the project signed by the Pope on Thursday. Francis appointed the undersecretary of the Vatican's development agency, Father Fabio Baggio, as the centre's director.
