Source of photo of naked girl on Cardinal's computer revealed

Nude photo on Danneels' PC came from VRT (Main Flemish TV channel) site

The picture of the naked girl on Cardinal Godfried Danneels' PC came from the VRT culture site Cobra.be. So reports the Brussels public prosecutor's office.

The prosecutor's office hopes that the investigation can now continue serenely. On Thursday morning, the prosecutor's office already showed its displeasure at the ongoing press leaks in the investigation.

The picture is an art photo called 'La Douce II' by photographer Laura Baudoux. The image appeared on Cobra.be in February in response to the programme 'the Canvas collection - La CollectionRTBF', the two public channels' amateur art competition.

"The cobra.be website is created from the same technical platform as the VRT news site. As a result, investigators were initially directed to deredactie.be," reads a press release. "When the page is displayed, images are automatically saved on the computer as 'temporary internet files'."

One of the press leaks reported that on Cardinal Danneels' personal PC, which was seized in the 24 June searches, a photo had been found of a young girl crouching naked in a shower.
