Thermo-Mass vestment-so that the priest feels better
Thermo-Mass vestment-so that the priest feels betterFor priest and acolyte, Martin Sandler has a solution: the Thermo-Mass vestment. The Thermo-Mass vestment, which is in black and white is offered for sale, consisting of a respiring, washable and high-tech wind-proof material and is equipped with an insulation layer. The feather garment weighs in size L just 600 grams and reflects 70% of the heat radiated by the wearer back to the inside of the garment. The same principle is working here as in the case of emergency foil (wrapped around people suffering from hypothermia). Result: the persons active around the altar freeze no more. The first garment, using this new technology was tested out by youth pastor Richard Dick from the Allgäu: "Usually after two church services in the winter, I am frozen to the bone and need a hot bath to warm up. With this thermal Mass vestment, I am now still wonderfully warm within. " In the summer, on the other hand the Mass vestment reflects the impinging radiation heat of the outside sun. For example, if during a church service outdoors or at a funeral the sun in the sky is too much, then the Mass vestment as a heat protective clothing can be worn. The clothing is not only interesting for pastors. Even servers, church musicians, choirs and administrative personnel in Cathedrals like the sacristan of Cologne Cathedral benefit from the new development from the Allgäu. Types are available depending on the intended purpose such as the Thermo-albe, the Thermo-cassock and the Thermo-Choir robe and Thermo Server’s cassock gewand or as Thermo-underdress. The the Thermo-Mass vestments are the ideal complement to church heating. There are now in Germany in more than 60 churches with a total of about 10,000 seats.

I think the picture shows the technology being tested on a protestant. But the vestments are supplied on an ecumenical basis.
