Will the Pope celebrate the 1962 Latin Mass in November?
The alleged "reform of the reform" of Pope Benedict XVI has after more than seven years of his pontificate remained a paper tiger. Will the Pope try to give the movement a new impulse?
On 3 November, thousands of traditionalists from around the world will assist at a Pontifical Mass in the old rite in St. Peter's Basilica.
On 10 September, the organizers gave details about the occasion in the Roman parish of Santissima Trinita dei Pellegrini, which is run by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter.
Organizer of the widely supported pilgrimage is the platform 'Coetus Internationalis Pro Summorum Pontificum'. It is a union of several Catholic organizations. The spiritual assistant of the pilgrimage is a famous French priest, Right Revd Father Claude Barthe. A group of the lay organization 'Pro Missa Tridentina' will join the pilgrimage from Germany.
It was not stated at the press conference who will celebrate the Mass.

That doesn't mean he won't.
Many of us are getting ready to defend The Latin Mass of All Times once again. If you doubt this then you have understood nothing about Pope Benedict XVI's policies on the liturgy.
@LeonG: Based on precedent—such as how he treated Abp. Lefebvre and how he tested, e.g., the Institute of Christ the King's loyalty by forcing Msgr. Wach to concelebrate a Novus Ordo with him—it would seem extremely unlikely that he would ever publicly celebrate a 1962 Rite Mass. But this is no reason to despair. Have faith. Anything is possible with God.
