Modern Church begins to crack up

Behind is meant to be the heavenly Jerusalem, but I think we can conclude that the artist has failed to convey successfully what he actually meant.

I presume tnat this is "supposed" to be a Catholic church, otherwise you wouldn't be posting it. In which case, (a) where is the tabernacle? (b) why is a hatstand doing duty for the crucifix?

This cracks me up. It looks like the lobby of BestWestern Montreal.

It looks like a trompe l'oeil of a rockslide. I get anxiety pangs just looking at it.

And the lighting fixture resembles an airplane hangar. So I guess we are meant to think that an airplane will swoop down and save us at the last possible minute and just before the rockslide engulfs us.

With a little imagination, I can see a traditional altar in place and the appropriate artwork needed.

All is not lost. Just as the churchers were "wreck-o-vated" so too can they be rennovated.
