Twig worship and an alien image of Christ

St Bede's Church, Basingstoke.

The "twig" is a tabernacle! Only a short way to go before reverting to paganism.

And Our Lord Crucified, in what seems like "magic" garments.

And here we have pictures of the consecration of the Church, by Bishop Hollis.

The Ecumenical Partners from churches not in the proper sense gaze on.

Anglican Bishop totally unmoved by the Presence of Christ.

And then the Indian liturgical dancers moved in to complete the impression of complete paganism. But even if the dancers are Catholics, the impression would remain.

Christ promised to feed his Church with bread from heaven, but the "tree" tabernacle sends a clear message ... that the Eucharist is a mere product of the earth.

If you lived in this diocese, you would not be surprised. Still, +C is nearly 75!
I would advise orthodox Catholics to stay away from this place.

Not because it is an ugly modern building (which it is).
But because it speaks of too many things which are not Catholic.

Find a church which can be seen to be unambiguously Catholic and attend Mass there.

If that means "parish hopping", so be it.

These photos are distressing. I live in the diocese of Portsmouth and we struggle to keep our young people in the Church. We have little hope with our present +B. Please pray for our diocese.
